A White Mountain tradition for over 50 years

Step back in time to a nicer, friendlier place.  You'll feel the difference the moment you step in the door.  Sense the pride of family ownership and small town, comfortable charm at historic Reed's Lodge.

Nestled in a protected, pastoral valley at the foot of the beautiful White Mountains, our lodge offers quick, easy access to fishing, hunting and outdoor recreation in the magnificent Apache National Forest.  We are minutes away from the amazing Casa Malpais Archaeological Park, popular Sunrise Ski Resort and all White Mountain area attractions & activities.  We are located on Hwy 60/180/191 in Springerville which, along with its sister town of Eagar, occupies Round Valley or "Valley Redondo" as it was named by the area's first Spanish settlers.

Built in 1949 to serve early day travelers on US 60, the nation's first coast to coast highway, Reed's retains its original, relaxed country atmosphere.  Together with our unique homestyle K5 Gallery, it reflects the real west cultural heritage of our region.  Rooms boast beautifully warm, locally milled aged knotty pine walls or log beams from the adjacent Apache National Forest.  Some are individually decorated with art by outstanding local artists who are featured in our gallery.  Outdoor porch supports are of large juniper and pine logs, adding more western character.  Our grounds feature casual, country landscaping (weeders welcome!) with several lawns, a variety of trees, and colorful flowers in season.

Film legend John Wayne owned a ranch nearby and used to enjoy coming to Reed's to play cards with Galyn's dad and other local gentlemen.  Our guests enjoy making themselves at home, relaxing by the huge lobby fireplace and swapping big fish or wild hunting and skiing stories.  We've even got a place to clean & freeze fish, and to barbecue on a back lawn.  The White Mountains are famous for trout fishing and over forty coldwater lakes and 500 miles of streams.  The rare Apache Trout can be found only here, along with cutthrout, brook, rainbow and brown trout.  Our lower lakes also offer bass, walleye and northern pike, catfish and sunfish.  For a current White Mountain fishing report, click here.  You can fill your ice chests with all the free ice you need for your outdoor adventures or borrow our bicycle built for two for a fun spin around town.

Check out our K5 High Country Adventures for information on our ranch,  outdoor experiences & guided tours for exciting and educational fun while you are here.

K5 Gallery & Books

Our cozy western gallery, gift shop and bookstore is located in our lodge lobby and several rooms beyond.  Ninety percent of our beautiful artworks and crafts are created by outstanding local White Mountain area artists or brought in from nearby Indian reservations.  Our selection is handpicked for uniqueness, quality and authenticity by Roxanne, a local fifth generation ranch woman (and Mom of this outfit).  Some of our motel rooms are thematically decorated with works by our featured artists, and the artworks are available for purchase through our gallery.  You'll be pleasantly pleased at how affordable our art is....no inflated resort prices here!

We specialize in rustic furniture made of local woods, custom framing and matting with a western flair, and exclusive photo cards and enlargement of local scenes taken by Roxanne.  Many items are one of a kind.

We also offer the areas most complete offering of regional book titles and Southwestern children's books, as well as nature and wildlife books, fishing and hunting titles, unique cookbooks and area history, culture, and cowboy poetry and humor......just about anything to do with our way of life here.  Many guests comment that the K5 is more like a museum than a shop!  The name comes from our family brand, and we'll even show you the branding irons to prove it.

We are happy to ship items back home for you.
